Our yards combine strength with practical dairy farm design
Yards have to take the hard knocks on a dairy farm. That’s why our yards are designed for strength, durability and practicality. We know flexibility is also important as farming operations can change in size or scope. As part of your farm dairy design we specifically design your yard for your farming operation and number of cows. This ensures you can do everything you need to do to make the running of your farm as easy as possible. Our yards are available in either round or rectangular and also come in a range of kitsets.

  • Medium wall galvanized steel posts with a minimum size of 51mm NB.

Anderson & Rooney HiLift Backing Gates

Backing gates build to take the knocks
Backing gates get heavy use so we have specifically designed our backing gates to be long-lasting and durable. Our HiLift backing gates for rectangular yards make doing the job easier as they lower behind and can also lift above cows. This gives you a full width opening into the yard allowing for fast and easy stock movement or separation giving you ultimate control.

Features:

  • Heavy RHS box section main beam.
  • 40mm nb galvanized pipe gate with integral hock rail.
  • Robust end assemblies.
  • 4 x cast steel wheels, 2 are driven.
  • Motor covers and safety guards.
  • Chain driven with 2 x reduction gear boxes and 0.55kW electric motors.
  • 1 x 0.55kW Winch motor and gearbox to raise and lower the gate.
  • Fully galvanized construction.

Anderson & Rooney Round Yard Backing Gates

Round yard backing gates that are long lasting and highly functional
Our round yard backing gates have been specifically designed to be long-lasting and durable. Our round yard backing gates can also be used as an aid to yard washing by utilizing the bottom rail to supply a series of water jets.

Features:

  • 80mm hinge post.
  • 80mm bottom rail which can carry water for yard washing.
  • 50mm top rail. Sealed to enable a wash down hose to be connected to the end of the gate.
  • 40mm hock rail.
  • 40mm rump rail.
  • 40mm intermediate rails.
  • 6 wheel 3 phase electric McConnell backing gate drives.
  • Available in lengths up to 20 metres.

Anderson & Rooney Centre Gate Posts

Centre gate posts that bring together smart design and durability
Our centre gate posts are robust enough to handle up to three backing gates as well as being able to distribute electricity and water to the backing gate.

Features:

  • 200mm centre post with and integral 100mm centre pipe which extends 1.5m above the centre post. This can carry a water gland and an electric slip ring as well as supporting the hinge end of the overhead electric gate.

Overhead electric gates to make your job easier
Our overhead electric gates make it easy to separate small numbers of cows from the herd as desired. We offer overhead electric gates suitable for both round and rectangular yards.

  • Fully galvanized.
  • Motor covers and safety guards.
  • Chain driven with reduction gear boxes and 0.18 kW electric motors.
  • Four bar lattice truss.
  • Supports an insulated aluminum boom.
  • Electric fence tape ribbons with galvanized chain weights.
  • 0.18 kW motor and gearbox to raise and lower ribbons.
