Dairy buildings and dairy farm equipment have been our focus for over thirty years. Dedicated to the rural sector from the beginning, Anderson & Rooney was set up in 1973 by Tom Rooney and Bill Anderson to manufacture and repair farm machinery. Seeing the burgeoning of the dairy industry in Canterbury, the company quickly became involved with the supply and installation of milking equipment. In fact we are proud to have been heavily involved in the design and development of the revolutionary DeLaval Turn-Style milking platform.

Over the years we have now built hundreds of rotary platforms of all sizes throughout the Canterbury region. Through our association with DeLaval we have also manufactured and installed dairy platforms in some far flung places including South Africa, Hungary, Turkey, Ireland, Mexico, United States of America and Australia.

Based in Winchester, Canterbury, we offer a retail store in Temuka at 20 King Street where you can pop in for all your day to day farming needs including spare parts and consumables such as dairy detergents, rubber ware, teat sprays, teat care products and filters. We also supply an extensive range of water pipe and fittings.

The retail store is supported by our dedicated manufacturing facilities in Winchester where we make our rotary platforms, gates, yards and vet tables. By manufacturing locally we believe this not only supports the community but also gives greater quality control so we can offer farmers the most reliable equipment at the best price.

Because dairy buildings and dairy farm equipment is a specialist area, our staff includes sales engineers, structural engineers, fully qualified milking machine technicians, fitter turner and fitter welders and stainless steel welders. Our experienced staff is supported by our fleet of modern vehicles to transport equipment and product to your farm so we can complete your job quickly and efficiently.

Our business is mainly done on the farm. We visit your farm so we can find out how you like to farm and what you want to achieve with your new cow shed and dairy farm equipment. We then complete a farm dairy design and suggest the DeLaval milking equipment we think will best suit your needs from standard milking equipment right up to the latest technology including automatic milking machines.

We organise everything for your cowshed

Anderson & Rooney is different in that we realise managing the build of new dairy buildings can be a complex and time consuming process for farmers. So we take care of every aspect of the job including recommending and organising appropriate contractors.

This saves you the hassle of having to find someone to complete various aspects of the job. And because we are used to working with the contractors we have specially selected, we know they are good at what they do and also that they know how to work with us. That means we can get the job completed for you as quickly as possible saving you both time and money.
